Empowered Man and Woman

painting of mine

Painting by Katelyn Mariah MA. BFA

“The War on Men Through the Degradation of Woman” – “How is man to recognize his full self, his full power through the eye’s of an incomplete woman? The woman who has been stripped of Goddess recognition and diminished to a big ass and full breast for physical comfort only. The woman who has been silenced so she may forget her spiritual essence because her words stir too much thought outside of the pleasure space. The woman who has been diminished to covering all that rots inside of her with weaves and red bottom shoes.

I am sure the men, who restructured our societies from cultures that honored woman, had no idea of the outcome. They had no idea that eventually, even men would render themselves empty and longing for meaning, depth and connection.

There is a deep sadness when I witness a man that can’t recognize the emptiness he feels when he objectifies himself as a bank and truly believes he can buy love with things and status. It is painful to witness the betrayal when a woman takes him up on that offer.

He doesn’t recognize that the [creation] of a half woman has contributed to his repressed anger and frustration of feeling he is not enough. He then may love no woman or keep many half women as his prize.

He doesn’t recognize that it’s his submersion in the imbalanced warrior culture, where violence is the means of getting respect and power, as the reason he can break the face of the woman who bore him 4 four children.

When woman is lost, so is man. The truth is, woman is the window to a man’s heart and a man’s heart is the gateway to his soul.

Power and control will NEVER out weigh love.

May we all find our way.

The Beauty of Feminine Consciousness is emerging…

299938_10151183626653940_1276406598_n

“In Blessed Mother’s view, all are lovable; all souls are accepted, all carry a sweetness of heart, are beautiful to the eyes; worthy of consciousness, of being inspired, being helped, being comforted and protected — even if other mere humans believe foolishly or blindly to the contrary.”

An Excerpt from Untie the Strong Woman: Blessed Mother’s Immaculate Love for the Soul by Clarissa Pinkola Estes

As women we get so hung up on physical appearance to the point that this is a female affliction carried in some form by most females on the planet.  We think that the only way we can attract men is to be beautiful and there is a billion dollar industry feeding off this issue.

With the shifting of the ages this affliction is being release and the true feminine beauty is being revealed.  The feminine energy has been suppressed for 2000 years so you can imagine this hiding was like a veil covering our true beauty as women.  There was purpose in hiding the feminine but it is now coming out of hiding.  Our consciousness as women is shifting away from concern about our physical appearance toward the beauty carried by the feminine energy.  People will be attracted to our empathy, sensitivity, creativity, intuition and receptivity and those are the things that will make us magnetic.

The Standard for Beauty is All Wrong!!

Everyone has heard the saying ” Beauty is only skin deep”, but what does that mean? beauty is only skin deep means just that…there is only one criteria for judging beauty and that is a physical criteria since ‘beauty’ is a physical characteristic.  Does it mean that below the skin there is no beauty?  Or does it mean physical beauty is just an external attribute. Beneath the skin we are all the same and yet all different.

What if it wasn’t the skin, which means the face and body, that we were responding to when we sought out beauty, but the energy field of the person.  Everything in the universe is energy. Objects are made up of microscopic particles vibrating at such a fast rate that they appear solid. Our limited sense of sight doesn’t let us see the movement, or vibration, of the particles. Every object has a natural healthy vibratory rate referred to as “resonance”.  The vibrations translate into color.

The aura is the electromagnetic field that surrounds the human body (Human Energy Field-HEF) and every organism and object in the Universe. The Human Energy Field  is a complex combination of overlapping energy patterns which define the unique spiritual, mental, emotional and physical makeup of an individual.  A person’s Human Energy Field (HEF) is that part of the Universal Energy Field.

The Human Energy Field as a collection of electro – magnetic energies of varying densities that are emitted from the physical body of a living person. These particles of energy are suspended around the healthy human body in an oval shaped field. This “auric egg” emits out from the body approximately 2-3 feet (1 metre on average) on all sides. It extends above the head and below the feet into the ground.  We respond to each other’s energy field whether  we realize it or not.

It might help to think of a magnet, which has an energy field around it that allows nearby objects containing iron to be pulled towards it. You can feel the power of this energy field when you try to pull apart two magnets that are stuck together (attracted). You can also feel the repelling action as a magnet pushes away the same end (pole) of another magnet.

The human aura is sometimes called the body’s magnetic force field  because it has similar attracting and repelling properties, although these are much more complex and varied than the simple ‘north’ and ‘south’ poles of a magnet.  Did you know that what you are thinking and feeling right now is being transmitted to other people – friends and strangers – through your aura? All the stuff that’s going on inside you is having an impact on your external world, including individuals, groups, and the environment is either attracting or repelling people around you.

The aura is seen to be composed of all the colors of the spectrum. Combinations differ with individuals and are constantly shifting in the case of all of us. The colors are representative of mental and emotional states.  Whether we can see the aura or not we are responding to it.

So what if we thought of all people as a color spectrum of the rainbow.

There would be green spectrum people, yellow spectrum people, blue spectrum people and so on, and for each color a different magnetic pull.  Some people might prefer blue spectrum people and some people might prefer red spectrum people and it is not about judgment but preference.  The preference could change based on how someone was feeling.

There is a book called  Aura Colors by Paula Oslie, which talks about the different aura colors and what they reveal about a person that I found very interesting.  According to Ms. Oslie:

Most people have many different bands of color in their auras. The outer bands in your aura change all the time – depending on what is happening in your life at that time. The one or two colors in your aura that are closest to your body, however, are your life colors. These colors typically do not change. The life colors reveal information about your personality, theme and purpose you have chosen for this lifetime, what kind of life partner is best suited for you, what kinds of careers will be most fulfilling, your strengths and weaknesses concerning money, health, family, and much more.

So, in reality, when someone is responding to us they are responding to a blending of things that may include what someone looks like but is probably more about our energy fields and our aura.

I prefer to look at people as a mix of the colors of the rainbow, rather than fat, thing, tall, short, old, young and black and white. How about you?

Weird is Beautiful!

You are weird!

Has anyone ever said that to you?  Did it feel like a complement or a put down?

I started thinking about the word and decided to look it up and see what the origin was.  Here is what I found: Wyrd is a concept in Anglo-Saxon culture roughly corresponding to fate or personal destiny.  The word is ancestral to Modern English weird, which retains its original meaning only dialectically.  Old English wyrd is a verbal noun formed from the verb weorþan, meaning “to come to pass, to become”.

Wow, really?

That is a long way from the meaning it has now, which is something strange, odd and sometimes unacceptable. The modern adjectival sense, meaning strange or uncanny, dates only to the early nineteenth century.  The modern sense of weird developed from M.E. use of weird sisters for the three fates or Norns (in Germanic mythology), the goddesses who controlled human destiny. They were usually portrayed as odd or frightening in appearance, as in “Macbeth,” which led to the adj. meaning “odd-looking, uncanny,” first recorded 1815.

I love the original meaning of weird/wyrd because it speaks to authenticity, being real and living our destiny.  That meaning is about our true beauty which is what I strive to embody and what this blog is all about.  My friend Deb Schanilec from Connected and Committed and I decided that the word weorþan should be a resistance toy.  A resistance toy is something you keep around to remind you of where you want to be when you come up against resistance.  weorþan is a word that reminds me I want to be authentic and real.  It reminds me that I want to drop the “Minnesota Nice” and speak what is on my mind. It reminds me to flow with what I am becoming and flow with my destiny.   I am going to write the word weorþan in fancy letters and place it around my house.

I wonder how originality and authenticity became weird and conformity became the norm?  It’s easier!  Or so we think. We are socialized to conform and change our beliefs and behaviors to fit in with a group.  It starts at a very early age. This change is a response to real or imagined group pressure, on the playground by our peers and later through the media.  Media advertizing works because our brains are programmed to conform at an unconscious level through years of training as children. We all want to be accepted and fit in and it takes courage to do something different and stand out in the crowd. Conformity is rewarded in a lot of different ways and being unique and authentic sadly isn’t.  If it wasn’t rewarded it wouldn’t be an issue.

It is a challenge to become Weird Weorþan Warriors yet unraveling the social programing to conform is possible.  It is never too late to become your authentic beautiful self and it takes a whole lot less energy than pretending to be something you’re not.

Here are some experiments to try that will help you break free of fitting in and move your toward authentic freedom:

1-Watch how much you censor yourself because you want to be accepted and stop doing it.

2-Wear stripes and plaids at the same time or some other “unacceptable” combination.

3-Spend one day a week being weird.

4-Do the opposite behavior of what you would normally do and see how it feels.

5-Focus on what makes you unique and accentuate it.

I also suggest paying attention to your resistance to doing these things and see where it comes from.  It is likely to lead to an unconscious belief that isn’t serving you.

I think weird is beautiful!  What do you think?

Beauty Feng Shui

“Life is a reflection of your thoughts.  If you change your thinking, you change your life.”
Hummm, can I really change how I look and how people see me by making Feng  Shui adjustments?  I was curious after finding some articles on Feng Shui for beauty and only found minimal information on it,  so I bought several books to learn more about it.  It makes sense because we are always reading people’s energy whether we know it or not and Feng Shui beauty is reading people’s energy and reflecting that on the outside.  It enhances the energy that is our true beauty.
Enthusiasts of the ancient Chinese art of Feng Shui say happiness and prosperity can be achieved by arranging your home in a certain way, but Feng Shui not just for the house anymore.  In fact, the origins of Feng Shui is really the mind-body connection and how we align ourselves to all areas of our lives.  People think of magic, superstition or religion when they hear the word Feng Shui but it is not any of those things.  It’s about ENERGY and how it affects everything in our lives.  Energy (chi) flows in, around and through our bodies every minute of every day. Everything in the world according to Feng Shui belongs to one of the five elements or energies, being fire, earth, metal, water and wood and we can change how it flows by doing certain adjustments. The physical adjustments are not the most important part of Feng Shui, they just give us visible reminders to change how we think consciously and unconsciously.
How we dress, wear make up, or not, wear our hair and the food we eat, have a direct result on our chi and that has a direct impact on how people see and relate to us.  If we want to  radiate authentic beauty it is important to align and harmonize the flow of our chi.  While blood carries oxygen and nutrients, chi carries thoughts, ideas, emotions and dreams.  What you think and the way that you think have a great deal of influence on outcomes in our lives.  Chi is an energy force that is flavored by our thoughts, emotions and feelings and people around us intuitively pick up on, and base their responses on it.

What are the effects of dis-harmonized chi? Here are three prominent examples.

• Negative chi, caused by excessive light and artificial energy (such as air conditioning), can cause mental and physical exhaustion.

• Strong chi (like that produced by dampness and drafts) can result in two polarized attitudes, depending on the person: either excessive emotion and over-excitement, or depression and lack of direction.

• Fast-flowing chi (which you can feel on very windy days) can make one over talkative and paranoid, fearful of personal attack

Feng Shui Beauty is understanding and enhancing your energy/chi through the five elements.  Billy Yamaguchi pioneered the concept of applying the principles of these elements to your hair, makeup and personal lifestyle.  According to Yamaguchi, all five elements are present in everyone but two elements are usually dominate.

If you were to consult a beauty Feng Shui practitioner they would the would look at the sum of your parts; spiritual, mental and physical, to create a wardrobe that is fulfilling, fortifying, flattering and functional.  As long as we are going with all the ‘f’s’ lets add Fun to the mix.  They might use the Transformational Triad.

The Transformational Triad concept leads us to balance our essence with our intention that changes over time to create a harmonious appearance.
  • Essential Energy (ESSENCE) is unconsciously expressed. It is the energetic lens through which you see the world, the assimilation of your core (driving force), character (emotional nature), and conduct (way of being) – the unique “essence”… that is you.
  • Intentional Energy (INTENTION) is consciously created. It is the energy attached to what you have “in mind” to be, do and have.
  • Visual Energy (APPEARANCE) is physically transmitted. It is the vibrational pattern created by “how you look,” influenced by the energies inherent in your physical coloring and body shape, and the colors, patterns, textures, fabrics and silhouettes of the clothes you wear.

It makes sense to me that if we look at our self from this prospective and enhance our inherent strengths we will project more of our authentic beauty.  It sounds like a fun thing to experiment with to see if anyone notices.
